CASA sees leadership shift as Andrea Lear departs and Dean Anderson steps in as Interim CEO to continue advancing agricultural safety.

The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) has announced a significant change in its leadership.

Andrea Lear, who has helmed the organization as Chief Executive Officer since January 2021, is stepping down. Under Lear’s guidance, CASA has made substantial strides in promoting health and safety within the agricultural sector.

Andrea Lear was instrumental in fostering partnerships and advancing safety initiatives. She brought to her role a deep understanding of agricultural community needs, rooted in her upbringing on a Manitoba hobby farm and bolstered by over 17 years in the not-for-profit sector.

Reflecting on her time at CASA, Lear expressed pride in the collective achievements made in enhancing agricultural safety and health.

Stepping into the role of Interim CEO is Dean Anderson, a dedicated board member familiar with the inner workings of CASA and its mission.

His appointment comes at a crucial time as CASA continues to build on its foundational achievements. The board expresses confidence in Anderson’s capability to lead the organization effectively during this transition period.

“We are deeply grateful to Andrea for her leadership, vision, and tireless dedication to CASA’s mission,” says Peter Sykanda, CASA’s Board Chair. “Under her leadership, CASA has made significant strides in advancing agricultural safety, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”

This leadership transition marks a new chapter for CASA, aiming to sustain and expand its impact on agricultural safety in Canada.
