Brian Rexing, a dedicated Indiana dairy farmer and member of the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) cooperative, is elected as the 15th Chairman of the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) during its Joint Annual Meeting.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your chairman,” said Rexing in his first remarks. “I may be stepping into this role, but it isn’t about me. It’s about who we represent, and the future we’re building together.”
Rexing and his wife, Ranell, owns and operates New Generation Dairy near Owensville, Indiana, milking 1,200 cows and farming 3,500 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. A fourth-generation farmer, Rexing also serves as Vice President of Evansville Young Dairymen and was recognized as Indiana Dairy Producer of the Year in 2010.
In 2021, he expanded his business by purchasing a meat processing plant with a retail store.
Rexing succeeds Randy Mooney, who led NMPF for 17 years. Mooney, who also chairs Dairy Farmers of America, will continue serving on NMPF’s Executive Committee. “It is one of the great honors of my life to work alongside so many dedicated farmer-leaders who care deeply about the future of dairy,” said Mooney. “I’m proud to pass the baton to Brian Rexing — a leader who carries forward the spirit of dedication, vision, and integrity that defines NMPF and our entire industry.”
