Brekka Kuss, from Woodworth, North Dakota, has been named one of the scholarship recipients for the 2025–2026 academic year by the North Dakota Grain Dealers Educational Foundation (NDGDEF). Kuss, an agribusiness student at Mayville State University, is one of seven students awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the foundation.
The NDGDEF was formed in 1980 by the North Dakota Grain Dealers Association to support agribusiness education and encourage young people to pursue careers in the grain marketing and agribusiness sectors. Since its creation, the foundation has remained committed to building a skilled future workforce for North Dakota’s grain industry.
Over the past 43 academic years, the foundation has awarded nearly $325,000 in scholarships and industrial aid grants, demonstrating its dedication to investing in the next generation of agricultural professionals. These scholarships help students prepare leadership roles by supporting their education in fields connected to grain marketing, management, and other agribusiness pathways.
The scholarship program is designed to help students gain the skills needed in today’s changing agricultural economy. As the grain industry continues to adopt new technologies and expand its global presence, programs like NDGDEF’s play an important role in preparing future professionals for success.
Students who receive these scholarships are encouraged to continue building their knowledge, strengthening their leadership abilities, and contributing to North Dakota’s strong agricultural foundation.
