Brandon and Callie Ross receive the Georgia Farm Bureau’s 1st District Excellence in Agriculture Award for their leadership and volunteer contributions to Gordon County’s agricultural community.

Brandon and Callie Ross of Gordon County have been honored with the Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) 1st District Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Excellence in Agriculture Award. The couple received this recognition during the GFB 1st District Annual Meeting held recently in Calhoun, Georgia.

The Excellence in Agriculture Award acknowledges young agricultural professionals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, community involvement, and a deep commitment to the future of farming.

Brandon and Callie Ross have consistently shown dedication to these values through their volunteer work and leadership within the Georgia Farm Bureau and their local community.

Callie has been a member of the Gordon County Farm Bureau (GCFB) Board of Directors since 2022, serving as the YF&R chair. She also contributes her time to the GCFB Scholarship Committee and actively supports the Ag in the Classroom program, helping educate young students about agriculture.

In addition, Callie has been part of the Gordon County Livestock Show Committee since 2018 and has served as the county Young Farmers Secretary since 2023.

Brandon Ross also played a leadership role in the organization, serving as the GCFB YF&R chair from 2017 to 2019. The couple’s shared dedication to agricultural education and community engagement reflects their belief in empowering future generations of farmers and ranchers.

Their efforts highlight the importance of young leadership in sustaining Georgia’s farming legacy and ensuring the continued success of rural communities. Through their service, the Rosses demonstrate how dedication, teamwork, and education can make a lasting difference in agriculture.

“Brandon and Callie’s work embodies the true spirit of community and agricultural excellence,” a GFB representative said. “Their leadership inspires other young farmers to serve with passion and purpose.”
