The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship programs. These scholarships support Ohio students from rural, suburban, and urban communities who are pursuing education connected to agriculture and related industries.
Through 17 scholarship funds, the foundation offers more than 50 awards in 2026, including two new scholarships. Most scholarships share a common application deadline for March 31. Students can apply online at https://ofbf.org/foundation/scholarships.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Ambassadors Scholarship is the foundation’s new premier award. It recognizes students who show strong academic performance, community service, and career goals that support Ohio agriculture. This scholarship provides one $10,000 renewable award, with the opportunity to renew for up to three additional years, for a total of $40,000. The deadline to apply is February 28.
Established in 2025, the John Wallace and James Wallace Douglas Scholarship help reduce financial barriers for students seeking agriculture related education or workforce training. The David E. Mizer Memorial Scholarship supports students from Belmont, Harrison, Jefferson, or Tuscarawas counties pursuing degrees in dairy science, food science, agriculture, or related fields. This scholarship offers a renewable $3,000 award for up to four years.
Other scholarships include the Lou Ann Putnam Harrold Memorial Scholarship, Bruce and Carlene Patterson Agricultural Scholarship, and the Ohio Farm Bureau Founders Scholarship. These awards focus on education, leadership, and workforce development in agriculture.
Several scholarships honor leaders who shaped Ohio agriculture, including the Bill and Helen Swank Scholarship, Cindy Hollingshead Scholarship, Darwin Bryan Scholarship Fund, Kenny Walter Scholarship, and the Dr. David A. Benfield Scholarship Fund. Additional opportunities include the Mularcik Welding Scholarship, Joseph Kelly Memorial Scholarship, Richard and Carole Cocks Scholarship, Ohio Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association Scholarship, and the Yvonne Lesicko Memorial Scholarship.
Many county Farm Bureaus also offer local scholarships. A full list of opportunities is available at https://ofbf.org/foundation/scholarships. For more information, students may contact Kelly Warner at kwarner@ofbf.org.
Through scholarships, programs, and grants, the foundation continues to support the next generation of leaders and workers who will strengthen Ohio agriculture and rural communities.
