The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) announces the hiring of Alison Murrell as its new communications specialist, strengthening its outreach and digital engagement with the agricultural community.
In this role, Murrell will work across multiple communication platforms, helping promote the organization’s mission and values. Her responsibilities include managing social media, updating the organization’s website, producing video content, and writing feature stories that highlight the people and programs shaping Minnesota agriculture.
Murrell is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she earned her degree in agricultural communications and marketing. She already has experience working with MFBF, having served as the communications intern during the summer of 2024.
In addition to her academic achievements, Murrell brings deep personal involvement in agriculture. She was active in 4-H and FFA, where she developed strong leadership and communication skills. Most recently, she served as the 2023–2024 Minnesota FFA State Secretary, gaining experience in agricultural advocacy and youth engagement.
Murrell also owns and shows horses and continues to participate in youth programs through volunteer service. Her connection to agriculture and passion for storytelling make her a strong fit for her new role at MFBF.
As the organization’s communications specialist, she will support efforts to connect with members, highlight success stories, and engage new audiences in both rural and urban communities.
According to the announcement, “Murrell will support MFBF’s communications efforts across multiple platforms. Her responsibilities will include managing social media, maintaining the organization’s website, producing video content, and writing feature stories.”
With this new appointment, MFBF strengthens its commitment to clear, engaging communication and support for Minnesota’s agricultural voice.
