We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role supports the Elders Tax team in ensuring the timely, accurate, and efficient delivery of all tax compliance and reporting obligations across the Group.
The Senior Tax Accountant will contribute to the preparation of statutory tax reports and returns, offer day-to-day tax advice, and assist in identifying tax risks and opportunities. This role will also support ad hoc projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function. It is ideally suited to a technically strong, detail-oriented tax professional who thrives in a collaborative and values-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of half-year and full-year tax accounting and statutory reporting.
Prepare income tax, GST, and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
Support internal stakeholders by providing timely advice on income tax, FBT, and GST queries.
Contribute to ad hoc projects and business initiatives by identifying potential tax implications and providing guidance.
Ensure effective risk management, compliance and reporting practices to meet statutory requirements.
Participate in tax-related training and development for the finance team and wider business units.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and CA or CPA qualified.
5+ years experience in a tax role within a large corporate organisation or professional services (Big 4 experience highly regarded).
Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law, including income tax, GST, and FBT.
Proficient in preparing tax returns and financial reporting with high attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical taxinformation to non-tax stakeholders.
Proactive, collaborative, and customer-focused, with a genuine interest in supporting business operations.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with CCH Integrator or similar tax compliance software (ideal, but not essential).
