About the role
The Category Specialist - Horticulture will be responsible for supporting the Category Manager to execute the Category Strategy for the Horticulture portfolio. This includes direct procurement and management of supplier relationships as well as setting the core product range and pricing strategy, executing promotional campaigns and supporting the delivery of product training and stewardship programs.
This role is based in Adelaide but location can be flexible for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Negotiation and management of supplier trading agreements
Ordering and allocating product
Defining the core product range and preferred suppliers
Setting pricing direction and delivering promotional campaigns
Coordination of product training and stewardship programs
Compliance with Elders' ethical sourcing framework
About you
At least 5 years experience in a sales, procurement or category management role
Experience in Australian agriculture, agricultural inputs, or retail industries with an emphasis on horticulture
Highly organised with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise
Negotiation skills and ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
Business acumen and financial modelling and analysis capability
Knowledge of supply chain planning principles
Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel. PowerBI advantageous
Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Management, Commerce or Agronomy / Agribusiness
