About the role
We are seeking an experienced Broadacre Agronomist to join the Elders Dubbo team on a permanent full-time basis. As part of a close-knit team that offers Real Estate, Finance, Livestock and Wool, Farm Supplies, and Agronomic advice to the local region, you will be responsible for providing agronomic and technical advice to support our Broadacre clients in achieving their sales and earnings targets while supporting and mentoring our junior agronomist.
With your strong background in agronomy, understanding of sustainable practices, and knowledge of new agricultural technologies, you will build and maintain strong client relationships while working closely with the branch team to offer agronomic advice, products, and services that help your clients succeed.
Responsibilities
As an Elders Senior Agronomist, you will:
Provide agronomic services for clients with farm management including planning, monitoring, testing, inspecting and Smart Farmer opportunities.
Develop and deliver tailored recommendations to address growers' specific challenges and opportunities
Build and maintain professional relationships with a targeted group of existing and new clients
Conduct farm visits to identify customer needs, offer product recommendations, and support implementation of agronomic solutions for prospective and existing clients
Maximise promotional opportunities, including assisting at field days and farmer meetings with demonstrations and trial work
Develop and mentor members of the agronomy team to deliver improved services to our clients
Achieve allocated financial objectives and assist with product forecasting and inventory management
About you
To succeed at Elders, you have:
Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science (or a related field) and AgSafe accreditation (or currently studying)
Previous experienced in a Broadacre Agronomist role and proficient understanding of different ag tech products
Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, customer focused Sales position, preferably within the Agricultural sector
Commitment to providing high levels of customer service and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, written and verbally, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of all levels
Ability to work in a team and autonomously, while delivering results
Sound use of digital Farm Management Systems for farm planning & recording recommendations
