Job Description: Farm Diesel & Vehicle Mechanic

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Farm Diesel & Vehicle Mechanic to join our agricultural operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing both diesel-powered farm equipment and standard vehicles used on the farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics, experience with automotive repair, and the ability to manage a wide range of equipment in a fast-paced farm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines, farm machinery, and standard gasoline vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake service, tire repair, and fluid checks.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electrical components, drivetrains, and fuel systems.
- Maintain a regular service schedule for both agricultural equipment and farm vehicles (e.g., pickups, service trucks).
- Ensure all machinery and vehicles operate efficiently during peak farming seasons.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair logs and work logs.
- Follow all safety regulations and proper handling procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in diesel or automotive repair preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and automotive repair.
- Proficient in diagnostics, including electronic scan tools and manual troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in outdoor and shop environments.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly.
- Work in varied weather and field conditions.
- Frequently stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Pay Range: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
