Lifelong Learning
March 23, 2018

By AgCareers.com

Are you a lifelong learner? Learning doesn’t stop when you graduate. In fact, the term learning shouldn’t be used interchangeably with education, according to the Zeqr Team, “Education yields temporary results, while learning brings permanent improvements.  We are capable of absorbing knowledge throughout our whole life and it is never too late to learn new things if you are determined and motivated.”

Frequent training is essential for candidates, employees, and employers to continually learn and adapt to change. It’s also one of the top motivational approaches employers use to keep employees challenged and productive in their roles[i].  Continued learning allows employees and candidates to stay up-to-date on the latest information and technology. Finding new, efficient, and economical ways to become educated is important to everyone in the workplace and also for candidates.E-learning has proven to be one way to train many people on a wide variety of topics at a relatively low cost.

Numerous sources cite the lack of face-to-face interaction as the major disadvantage of e-learning. However, it is recognized that the positives most often outweigh the negatives.

E-Learning Advantages:

  • Accessible: available to almost anyone, anywhere with internet access
  • Affordable: reduced travel expenses; train many people at once
  • Flexible: learn when it’s convenient for you
  • Current: Digital technology allows information and sharing to be up-to-date and relevant
