October 07, 2016

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the White House Rural Council announced new efforts today to strengthen the U.S. agricultural workforce.  The goal of the America the Bountiful Initiative is to expand and diversify the U.S. agricultural workforce.  AgCareers.com is participating in two of the named initiatives.

AgCareers.com is part of the Agriculture Diversity and Inclusion Roundtable, led by Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and the USDA to develop strategic plans for building a diverse and inclusive pipeline of talent and a competitive U.S. ag sector.  This Roundtable group is divided into four sub-committees.  Eric Spell, AgCareers.com President, is a member of the Creating Awareness & Education K-12 Committee.  Ashley Collins, AgCareers.com Education & Marketing Manager, is a member of the Building the Pipeline Committee

AgCareers.com also partnered with The National FFA Organization and Discovery Education to create https://www.AgExplorer.com.  This comprehensive online career resource helps students explore the broad range of agricultural careers and links to current job openings on AgCareers.com.  AgExplorer includes 235 agricultural career profiles, with AgCareers.com committed to continually working to identify additional careers.
