Creating the Future Workforce in Food and Agriculture
March 24, 2016

AgCareers.com President Eric Spell participated in a two-day workshop on Creating the Future Workforce in Food and Agriculture on February 10-11, 2016 at the National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, DC.  The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine organized this workshop of stakeholders on the future of the workforce for the food and agricultural industries.

The goal of the workshop was to develop a forward-looking set of strategies to guide the recruitment, education, placement, and retention of the next generation of workforce participants in the agriculture, food, and natural resources industries.

Spell contributed his expertise in the University programming:  Curriculum and Soft Skill Development work group session, where they developed a written action plan to address the topic.

The 2016 AgCareers.com Ag & Food HR Roundtable will include sessions pertinent to university programming and soft skills, such as the Have Employability Skills Changed in the Last 5 Years? panel discussion.  Find out more information on the Ag & Food HR Roundtable.
