PMA Foundation Offers New Resources for Advancing Produce Careers
August 01, 2013

Members of the produce and floral supply chain now have even more assistance with attracting, developing and retaining a strong workforce. Produce Marketing Association Foundation for Industry Talent (PMA Foundation) announces two new offerings for advancing produce careers: the High Performance Management Conferencefor mid-level managers and a robust job bank in partnership with AgCareers.com.

The High Performance Management Conference is set for Dec. 4-6 in Phoenix, Ariz. This first-ever conference will provide training for those professionals in the middle of an organization, a critical yet often underserved part of a company’s business team. Training will cover areas such as globalization, food safety, technology, and team leadership, and is being designed in partnership with Thunderbird School of Global Management, the same top international business school with which the PMA Foundation affiliated for the Emerging Leaders Program.

Also, a new agreement with AgCareers.com now gives PMA member companies looking to post employment opportunities access to a national portal focused exclusively on the agricultural industry. Companies supporting PMA Foundation’s Industry Talent Fund or Capital Campaign with a gift of at least $5,000 receive discounted rates on any of three packages ranging in offerings from basic to unlimited postings with access to extras such as market research, applicant tracking, and a compensation and benefits survey. Other PMA member companies can also participate at regular AgCareers.com pricing.

“This new High Performance Management Conference and partnership with AgCareers.com directly reflect what industry members tell us they need and also directly reflect industry’s support,” said Margi Prueitt, PMA senior vice president and PMA Foundation executive director. “PMA Foundation routinely invests donor dollars to enhance current initiatives and create new and relevant solutions to address the talent challenges of the global produce and floral industry.”

Since its inception in 2006, PMA Foundation has built a continuum of professional development programs and services that span the life of a person’s produce career.

As a charitable organization, PMA Foundation represents an industry-wide partnership funded in part by charitable donations and volunteer involvement. To make a difference with a gift to PMA Foundation of your time, money or both, visit www.pmafoundation.com.
