University of Nebraska-Lincoln wins AgCareers.com NAMA Video Challenge
May 11, 2011

AgCareers.com is excited to announce that the University of Nebraska – Lincoln National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Club is the winner of the 2011 NAMA Video Challenge.

The NAMA Harvesting Ideas Agri-Marketing Conference was held in Kansas City April 13-15th, 2011. During the event, AgCareers.com commissioned three student organizations to create a video about career opportunities within the agriculture industry. Students from Illinois State University, Iowa State University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) spent three days interviewing students, educators, company and industry representatives about why they enjoy their jobs in agriculture and the current state of agriculture careers.

Each school was provided a flip camera to use during their time at Expo and given two weeks to edit their material into the finished product. The videos were then judged by AgCareers.com to select a winner. All three submissions can be viewed online at the AgCareers.com YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/agcareers).

The University of Nebraska- Lincoln NAMA Club received $500 from AgCareers.com for their winning video.

“We wanted to create enjoyable videos to get students excited about careers in agriculture and help them learn what to expect when searching for a job,” said Ashley Collins, Education Coordinator with AgCareers.com.  “This is the second conference where we’ve offered this opportunity to students. We plan to continue this project at other agricultural events to create a library of educational clips for students on the AgCareers.com YouTube channel,” added Collins.
