AgCareers.com is excited to welcome our 2010/2011 Collegiate Ambassadors. The Ambassador Program rotates across several universities with strong agriculture-related colleges, throughout North America. This year marks the 7th year of the program for AgCareers.com. These students act as a liaison between AgCareers.com, AgCareers.com’s partnership clients, and their student body. Throughout the 2010 and 2011 school year, ambassadors will educate their peers about the numerous career and internship opportunities posted on AgCareers.com by partnership clients, as well as important skills needed to achieve their ideal career in the agriculture industry.   Please join AgCareers.com in welcoming the new AgCareers.com Ambassador Team. 
 
Dustin J. Rinehart is a senior from, Pungo VA, located just outside the City of Virginia Beach. During his summers he worked on a local pig farm, and decided to study Animal Science, after completing his freshman year at North Carolina State University Dustin transferred to Virginia Tech as a sophomore, where he continues his education today. He became heavily involved in Virginia Tech’s Block and Bridle Club, and is a founding member of the Virginia Tech Swine Club. During his junior year of college he studied abroad in South Africa at the University of the Free State gaining a global perspective in agriculture. Dustin has been involved in four research studies as an undergraduate involving swine, poultry, and beef cattle. He previously held an internship working for a small animal vet clinic, and recently with Murphy-Brown, LLC this past summer. Dustin is extremely involved with Greek life on the Virginia Tech campus through FarmHouse Fraternity. Dustin has served as the social chair, and is currently serving as the Virginia Tech FarmHouse Fraternity President. Dustin hopes to go to graduate school, and emphasize on the swine species, or try working in the political field for agriculture in the state of Virginia or North Carolina.
 
Caitlin Kasper is a senior at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities majoring in Agricultural Education-Leadership and Communications. She has two minors, one in Animal Science and the other in Spanish Studies. Caitlin will graduate in May 2011 and hopes to pursue a career in agricultural communications. On campus she is actively involved in Beta of Clovia Sorority as the Secretary, the Ag Ed Club, Collegiate Agri-Women as the President and Gopher Dairy Club as the Topline yearbook senior editor and the reporter. Additionally she is also a member of the University of Minnesota dairy judging team. For the past two years she has worked through the National Collegiate Agricultureal Program to speak to various audiences in her home and college communities to increase agriculture literacy. Caitlin recently traveled with the U.S. Grains Council to Malaysia and Taiwan to study agricultural trade and marketing through the International Collegiate Agricultural Leadership program. She served as the Minnesota FFA Secretary during 2008-2009 and was a Princess Kay of the Milky Way Finalist in 2007. This past summer Caitlin worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred International in Mankato, MN as a Marketing Intern. The summer prior she interned with Fort Dodge Animal Health as a Dairy Intern.
 
Macy Eaves is currently a junior at Texas A&M University pursing a degree in Agricultural Leadership and Development with an emphasis in Animal Science. Macy served as a Texas FFA State Officer in 2008-2009. While at A&M, she is currently serving as the President of the Department of Agricultural Leadership Education and Communications Aggie Reps, a member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, as well as a Texas A&M University Student Blogger. She has been named as an outstanding student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and serves as the Student Representative for the Centennial Committee as well as a Scholarship Foundation Committee. Macy holds a position working for the Associate Dean for Student Development in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and has completed an internship with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Ag Workers Mutual Auto Insurance focusing on sales and marketing. Upon graduation, Macy hopes to pursue a Masters Degree to eventually obtain a career in public relations and sales within the agriculture industry.
 
Marybeth Horn is a transfer student at UC Davis majoring in Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry with a specialization in Landscape and Turf. While taking botanical courses, she has worked part-time as an intern in the greenhouse for a bio-pesticide company, Marrone Bio Innovations. This past summer she interned with the prune breeding program of the Pomology department at UC Davis harvesting fruit and collecting data from various orchards in the surrounding areas. While a student at Sierra College Marybeth was involved with the environmental club on campus, and at UC Davis is very involved with the Botany and Horticulture Club. After graduation, Marybeth plans to become a certified arborist, landscape technician, and water manager with future plans t0 to create a family farming business.  
 
Sydney Vos is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Agricultural Business Management at the University of Alberta. She grew up on a grain farm in Northern Alberta where she was involved in 4-H clubs. Over the past three summers, Sydney has worked for companies such as Cargill, Pioneer Hi-Bred Ltd and Farm Credit Canada to broaden her knowledge of the Agricultural Industry. At the University of Alberta she is actively involved in the Agriculture Club, the University of Alberta Judging Club and volunteer with Arabians for Reading Literacy Program. Sydney will graduate in May 2011 and plans to travel throughout Australia and New Zealand to work in the Agricultural Industry abroad. In the future, she would like to have a career working with producers and businesses in the area of Agricultural Finance.
