Ag Professionals can Improve Industry by Attending HR Roundtable

 Agriculture professionals can learn how to improve their organizations and the industry at the 2009 U.S. Ag Human Resources Roundtable Aug. 3-5, 2009, in Champaign, Ill.

The Roundtable is organized by AgCareers.com, the leading supplier of human resource services to the agriculture industry, and hosted by the University of Illinois and Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM). It brings together Ag human resources (HR) professionals and upper management, post-secondary education professionals, career services staff and association representatives to discuss timely HR topics.

“True employers of choice strive to be better by continuously learning about recruitment and retention issues within the industry,” said AgCareers.com President Eric Spell. “The Roundtable is an opportunity for us to address these issues and learn from one another to improve our industry as a whole.”

Populating the pipeline of talent, the formula for finding the right hire, effective on-campus branding and gaining buy-in for employee training are just a few of the many valuable topics that will be discussed. The conference program will be submitted to receive credit hours through the HR Certification Institute.

Presenters include Alexandra Levit, workplace author and columnist; Don Evans, head of talent acquisition North America for Syngenta; Jackie Jones, Illinois Ag in the Classroom; Nita Beecher, labor and employment law specialist for ORC Worldwide; and many other exceptional speakers.

Participants will also have the opportunity to listen to a panel of executives discuss HR practices and industry trends, attend a networking dinner at the University of Illinois Memorial Stadium and participate in a tour of ADM.
