Bakersfield, Cal. – California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura will join agri-industry professionals and post-secondary agriculture educators at the Western North America Ag and Food HR Roundtable.
The Roundtable will take place May 4-6 in Monterey, CA, and is hosted by AgCareers.com, the leading supplier of human resource services to the agriculture industry.
“This type of event is valuable to the western agriculture and food industry because it allows employers and educators to work collectively to determine how we can better recruit, train and retain talent,” Kawamura said.
This is the first year AgCareers.com has hosted a Roundtable in the West, and they expect to have approximately 50 attendees. Those currently registered for the event include Land O'Lakes, Wilbur-Ellis, Harris Moran, UC Davis, Washington State University and many others.
AgCareers.com President Eric Spell said he hopes that western professionals will see this as an educational opportunity to better the industry in light of the current economic situation.
