December 10, 2008
Cynthia Hoffman, AgCareers.com

Western U.S. and Canadian agri-industry professionals will have the opportunity to network and discuss timely human resources issues at the first-ever AgCareers.com Western North America Ag and Food HR Roundtable.
The roundtable will take place May 4 - 6, 2009, in Monterey, CA, and is hosted by AgCareers.com, the leading provider of human resources services for the agriculture industry.
"The roundtable is our way of helping 'raise the bar' in how we as an industry recruit, train, and retain talent," said Eric Spell, president of AgCareers.com. "This event will allow us to work collectively as a group, learn from one another, and gain a new perspective by listening to guest speakers from both inside and outside of the industry."
Among the guest speakers are Jim Welch, president and founder of The Growth Leader, Inc.; Karol Pelletier, director of human resources at Clougherty Packing; Alexandra Levit, founder and president of a career consulting firm called Inspiration at Work; and many other exceptional guest presenters.
The conference schedule contains a variety of sessions including: Strategies for Effective Human Capital Management, Putting Employer Branding to Practice, and Linking Universities and Employers to Create Success. The program has been submitted to receive SHRM credits.
In addition to the educational sessions, Spell said the networking opportunities will also benefit conference attendees.
"This event brings together human resource professionals, career services staff and relevant association representatives," Spell said. The face-to-face networking that occurs will lead to revelations of what the industry needs in terms of recruitment and retention."
The cost to attend is $625 if you register before April 1, 2009. Participants who register before Dec. 30, 2008, will receive a $100 discount.
