2007 Agribusiness Human Resource Review
September 04, 2007

Clinton, North Carolina – With Labor Day shortly behind us, AgCareers.com releases a report that will help agribusiness employers better understand labor practices among their organizations. The 2007Agribusiness HR Review was released today (September 4th) and available for purchase for agribusiness employers across the United States.

The annual Agribusiness HR Review provides insight, market knowledge and data on a range of human resource practices and trends relevant to agribusiness in a confidential manner. The report is comprised of responses to a 40-plus questionnaire that is completed online and yields an electronic report of HR data and trending information in a graphical as well as a detailed interpretation.

“After viewing a sample of the Agribusiness HR Review, this data will assist me and our management team in benchmarking the Farms.com organization in comparison to other employers in our industry in areas that are most important to our employees, such as fringe and mainstream benefits,” said Melinda Mullenix, Farms.com Human Resources Manager.

The Agribusiness HR Review will benchmark salary reviews; human resource management practices; management performance schemes; benefits/salary packaging information; and recruitment practices. A few examples of the key findings from the 2007 Agribusiness HR Review report include:

•  Greater than 95% of companies experienced an increase in salaries of greater than 2.1%
in the last twelve months.
•  More than 30% of agribusinesses experienced employee turnover greater than 20%.

“Thank you for the Agribusiness HR Review report,” said Greg Morgan, JBS United Human Resource Manager. “It is going to come in handy, as this coming Monday we will be determining our merit budget and we will use some of this information to determine the size of our merit fund.”

In 2007 more than 40 companies contributed data. The report is available to ALL organizations, even those that did not contribute data.
