Are you an experienced Farm Business Consultant with strong commercial acumen, a sharp eye for detail, and a practical farming background?

We are recruiting an experienced Farm Business Consultant to join a respected consultancy operating across Devon and the wider Southwest. You will work closely with a varied client base, providing trusted advice that helps farming businesses improve profitability, strengthen resilience, and plan sustainably for the future. This is a client-facing role for a self-motivated professional who combines sound business judgement with hands-on farming understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Support farmers with grant and stewardship scheme applications
•  Provide practical farm management and business advice to improve performance and drive growth
• Assist with RPA mapping, claims and compliance requirements
•  Prepare budgets and cashflows, and deliver farm business appraisals and performance reviews
•  Advise on relevant regulation, assurance and compliance obligations
•  Build trusted client relationships and deliver clear, actionable recommendations
•  Identify and support new business development opportunities

What we are looking for

•  Proven experience as a Farm Business Consultant (or in a similar advisory role)
•  Degree in Agriculture/Agricultural Management (or equivalent experience); accountancy/finance background advantageous
•  Experience with grants, schemes and stewardship applications
•  Knowledge of succession planning and financial management would be desirable
•  Strong practical farming knowledge and a commercial mindset
•  Confident communicator with excellent client-facing skills
•  Proactive, organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage your own workload
•  Full UK driving licence
