A trusted name in the North of England is seeking a dedicated Retail and Merchant Manager to join their Agri store team.

As the Retail and Merchant Manager, you will play a key role in managing the clean operation of our store and feed merchants. You will communicate with suppliers, farmers, sales reps, and management to keep a handle on stock levels. You will manage the buying and selling of feed, fertiliser, and other agricultural products, and steer the Retail team to success.

This position is ideal for an individual with a strong background in farming and an appetite for organisation and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run day-to-day store operations, organising stock purchase, movement and selling.

• Keep track of industry pricing, markup, and distribution costs.

• Record all stock movement paperwork, manage inventory and back-office administration

• Act as team leader to retail sales staff, hitting targets and providing proper customer service.

• Arrange events and promotions to engage with the local farming community.

• Build relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

• Ensure the operation is up to date with all store compliance regulations.

• Drive sales growth, identify new business opportunities.

You will have:

• Agricultural knowledge (essential!)?– you understand the seasonal needs of farmers and contractors.

• Proven experience in purchasing and stock control.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Exceptional organisational abilities and attention to detail.

• A proactive, customer-focused mindset.

• Experience in planning and organizing events is beneficial.
