Production Manager – Ethanol Manufacturing

Our client, a leading player in the renewable fuels sector, is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily ethanol plant operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and product quality, while driving continuous improvement across the facility.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in ethanol production, chemical processing, or similar manufacturing environments, along with a strong track record in team development and process optimization.

Responsibilities
Operations Management

• Direct all aspects of ethanol production to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
• Monitor and analyze production data to optimize yield, minimize waste, and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
• Partner with quality assurance to maintain product consistency and meet industry specifications.
• Collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Lead initiatives for process improvements, technology upgrades, and sustainability enhancements.
• Prepare reports on production performance, compliance, and process improvement outcomes.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop production staff to ensure thorough training and adherence to safety protocols.
• Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback.
• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in ethanol production, chemical processing, or related manufacturing industries.
• Strong decision-making skills under pressure with a track record of motivating and inspiring teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with process control software preferred.
• Demonstrated application of lean manufacturing principles to improve operational efficiency.
• In-depth understanding of ethanol production processes, including fermentation, distillation, and refining.
• Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on process optimization and risk mitigation.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 175 feet.
