About the Role

 

CMN is seeking a strategic and people-focused Sales Manager to lead our ag retail sales team across multiple locations. This role is perfect for a collaborative leader who thrives on developing talent, fostering a high-performance culture, and aligning sales strategies with business goals. They will be responsible for creating and executing tailored sales plans, coaching and mentoring team members, and leveraging data to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement. As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll also support operational execution, champion safety and compliance, and strengthen relationships with customers and the broader community.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Planning & Sales Management

  • Analyze market conditions and sales portfolios to develop tailored strategies for each location.
  • Collaborate on  sales targets and performance indicators; provide coaching and training to sales teams.
  • Monitor sales performance against projections and budgets.
  • Track sales metrics and prepare performance reports.
  • Use data to identify opportunities for growth or improvement.
  • Oversee sales processes, pricing, and reporting.
  • Maintain customer and prospect lists.
  • Promote CMN’s brand through community engagement and strategic marketing.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with CMN Health, Safety & Environment policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Collaborate on sales targets and performance indicators; provide coaching and training to sales teams.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions to support individual development and address performance gaps.
  • Organize ongoing training programs to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
  • Facilitate team-building activities and knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen collaboration and morale.
  • Conduct performance reviews, participate in recruitment, and onboard new hires.
  • Support Operations team in executing business plans

 

Required Experience

 

  • Experience and education in agricultural related field preferred 
  • 8+ years of successful sales experience required. Including a positive track record of growth in value added products, successful budget management and team development.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations, both written and oral, to a wide array of audiences
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams that includes providing a clear vision, direction and feedback.
  • Experience interacting with senior level management (customer and internally). 
  • Broad and in-depth understanding of cooperative operations with the potential to continue growing in this base of knowledge
  • Strong sense of customer focus and demonstrated excellence in sales and negotiation skills

 

Hours of Work

 

  • Office Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00a.m. -5:00p.m. * Due to the nature of the position and seasonal demands of the business, requirements to be available outside hours previously noted hours will be required.
  • The Sales Manager maybe required to take after hours calls/meetings and must be flexible to deal with the demands
  • Report weekly to Camrose Head Office for weekly meeting
