We are seeking a Sr. Director of Innovation for Seed Research & Development (R&D). Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role is an integral member of the R&D leadership team with critical cross-functional partnerships within the global Seed Business Unit leadership and regional teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of the overall Seed Business R&D strategy, establishing innovation priorities to ensure the seed portfolio aligns with market demands today and in the future.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

Strategic Planning & Execution:

* Develop and implement the R&D roadmap for the Seed business, as well as work to develop strategic direction with the Seed business and Strategy team. The scope includes germplasm, breeding, biotech trait, digital, and gene editing programs globally.

* Oversee the program management of the global seed development pipeline, from discovery and trait integration to field testing and commercialization.

* Monitor and evaluate emerging trends and competitive activities in business, agriculture and technologies to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Direct and Indirect People Leadership:

* Lead and inspire a diverse team of scientists, researchers, and support staff to achieve breakthrough innovations in seed technology.

* Monitor short- and long-term progress towards priorities.

* Foster a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the R&D department.

* Manage the budget, including capital and allocate resources effectively, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Collaboration and Relationship Building:

* Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing, sales, production, commercial, GSO, corporate IT, agronomy and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless product launches and market adoption.

* Identify and drive innovation opportunities across Seed and Crop Protection business units where possible.

* Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners, to advance research initiatives and technology exchange.

* Represent the company with partners, farmers, deals, kick-off events, industry conferences, symposiums, and public forums, showcasing our leadership in seed technology and innovation.

QualificationsWhat's skills you'll need:

* Bachelor's degree (Master's or PhD. preferred) in Business, Finance, Agronomy, Plant Science, Genetics or other related field.

* 15 plus years of scientific, commercial or relevant industry experience.

* Global scientific or commercial leadership experience with the depth and breadth of technical expertise to solve complex technical problems and deliver comprehensive solutions.

* Keen understanding of agricultural industry, global seed markets, market dynamics, and customer needs. and the overall business

* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a global, multidisciplinary team towards common goals.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and nurturing relationships both internally and externally.

* Business Financial Acumen; demonstrated experience in managing large budgets.

* Strong innovation mindset focused on sustainable product to meet changing business landscape.

* Strong project management skills and ownership for delivering high-quality results.

* Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to work across disciplines.

* Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and make data-driven decisions.
