Who is the IT Product Owner for EMEA?  

An IT Product Owner is accountable for identifying and delivering IT solutions for IT products and services in the EMEA region. They do this through a clearly defined product family with solutions that align to enterprise standards and common technology patterns. They lead a team to translate technology priorities into requirements for delivering Cortevas overall strategy for solutions that achieve transformational business outcomes. 

As a Technology Leader: 

Managing all technical aspects of applications and services within their product family 

Facilitating technical road-mapping to establish and support product lifecycles 

Establishing and managing relationships with technical vendors supporting their products 

As a CapabilityBuilder: 

Aligns products and delivery efforts to support business roadmap and strategic priorities 

Leads discovery, assessment, estimation, and innovation to identify solution options for business needs 

In collaboration with CoE orgs, provides direction and oversight to Agile delivery teams  

Works with Agile delivery teams to refine and improve development processes 

As an Operator: 

Manages full-time and contracted staff, including financial management of the product family (i.e.,financials for delivery, tech vendor contracts, Total Cost of Ownership, etc.) 

Responsible to charter project-defined efforts and plan product roadmap delivery efforts according to scope, budget, schedule, and staffing 

Inspects and evaluates progress on products throughout the delivery cycle 

How the IT PO works?  

Maintains Strong Business and IT Partnerships: Collaborates with Business stakeholders, IT Business Relations Managers and Business Product Owners to align delivery priorities to detailed requirements and business roadmaps. 

Provides Technical Leadership: Ensures IT solutions meetbusiness needs in alignment with industry standards and technology trends. 

Strategize: enables convergence of IT and Business strategies 

Leads Product Development: Ensures that a comprehensive product view is available and leveraged (e.g., key performance indicators) for reporting, Agile Delivery Team management, and product health monitoring. 

 

What are the IT PO skills and behaviors?  

Strategic Enablement:Leverage technical leadership to enable business strategy through constructing technical product roadmaps through discovery and innovation of IT solutions 

Technical Product Management: Provide direction and oversight of financial management (i.e., financials for delivery, tech vendor contracts, Total Cost of Ownership, etc.), technical standards, system architecture, engineering practices, and product lifecycle. 

Delivery Leadership: Provide direct and matrix leadership of employees, contracted staff, vendor partners, and delivery processes for product development within their product family. 

Business IQ: Growing knowledge and understanding of their business partners and how they fit within Corteva overall; Participate in industry peer groups to understand industry trends 

Technology IQ: Growing knowledge and understanding of leading and emerging technologies related to their business partners and associated technology product families; Participate in industry peer groups to understand industry trends 

 

What are the IT PO responsibilities? 

  • Influences and executes on a defined business roadmap for aligned IT products 
  • Ensure successful product delivery inclusive of support 
  • Responsible for building the vision for the IT products/services, in alignment with business value/strategy roadmaps. 
  • Responsible for financial management of the product family (i.e.,financials for delivery, tech vendor contracts, Total Cost of Ownership, etc.) 
  • Expected to articulate and write technical product strategies, working with cross-functional groups to achieve support as necessary 
  • Manages the end-to-end lifecycle(s) of complex products 
  • Has deep understanding of platforms, tools, and technology in product area 
  • Consults on epics, user stories across multiple complex and cross-functional feature/ service areas as needed 
  • Understanding of how to match and deliver digital solutions to business needs 
  • Always on the lookout for innovative technologies and working with the team in bringing in new technologies 
  • Provide upper management and stakeholders with timely status updates 
  • Identify the critical path of work to assess and mitigate risks for meeting business objectives 
  • Partners with the IT BRM to establish and lead regular operating rhythms with relevant stakeholders to cover both strategic and operational opportunities and issues and drive decision-making and action 
  • Maintains IT product dashboard (e.g., key performance indicators) for reporting, Agile Delivery Team management, and product health monitoring. 
  • Mentor and coach direct and matrixed team members 
  • Manage employees and/or contracted staff as direct reports

Qualifications


Job Qualifications 

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology,  or related field  
  • 10+ years of IT and business experience with increasing levels of leadership responsibility 
  • Experience working in multinational companies with people from diversified cultures and backgrounds inside and outside of Europe 
  • 3+  working experience in product owner, product manager or delivery manager role (including people leadership) 
  • Excellent communication skills in English both on verbal and written including presenting 
  • Risk and financial management  
  • Expirence in Digital marketing, e-commerce and mobile apps technologies strongly desired; experience in data & analytics and commercial technologies (CRM, Sales automation, etc.) will be an asset  
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical or Agricultural industry preferred
