Maintenance, Refrigeration and Agriculture Mechanics Needed
Schedule: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support our harvest and processing operations by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical equipment. This role combines expertise in agricultural machinery, refrigeration systems, and food processing equipment to maintain smooth production flow and uphold quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment, including:
- Pea and corn harvesting machinery
- Refrigeration systems
- Canning line equipment (conveyors, fillers, seamers, labelers, etc.)
- Ensure all equipment operates efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
- Collaborate with supervisors and production teams to support continuous improvement and maintain quality standards.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Assist with seasonal changeovers, line setups, and tear-downs during pack season.
- Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, parts inventory, and cost control measures.
- Provide relief support in other departments and assist with facility-wide maintenance as needed.
- Supervise and train seasonal maintenance staff during peak production periods.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment performance.
- Foster a safe, organized, and positive work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills across agricultural, refrigeration, and industrial equipment.
- Two-year technical or vocational degree in refrigeration, mechanical, or industrial maintenance (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with food processing or canning lines preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and safety.
- Ability to work extended or flexible hours during peak production seasons
Starting wage range is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on skills, abilities, and experience.
