Do you have bachelor s degree in business, marketing, or engineering? Do you have 5-10 years  experience in management in a manufacturing setting? Experience with customer service, accounting, human resources, manufacturing processes, food safety training, and regulatory (animal health)? Strong technical knowledge of animal nutrition and animal nutrition feed production practices? Expertise in leveraging CRM systems and sales pipelines? General Purpose and Scope of Position:

As a member of the Leadership team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the strategic plan for the operations components of an animal feed nutrition company that supports the overall division strategy. This role oversees all internal operational functions ensuring all processes are efficient and effective in the use of resources to meet customer and business requirements. The areas of oversight include Facilities Management, IT, Project Management, Facility Operation, Supply Chain, Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Environmental Health, Safety and Security, Indirect Spend and Business Process and Transaction Support. Duties. Responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources. Responsible and authority for ensuring food safety, quality and regulatory. Oversight and maintenance of personnel issues and records.  Fully responsible for all operation and administrative activities.

  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant industry related field preferred (ex: engineering, marketing, business management); Master s/PhD is preferred
  • Experience: 5-10 years experience in management in a manufacturing setting
  • Required Skills: Customer service, Accounting, Human Resources, Manufacturing Processes, Food Safety Training, Regulatory (animal health)
  • Preferred Skills: Product knowledge, budgeting experience, regulatory (animal health/additives/premix)    
  • Physical Requirements: General good health
  • Significant industry related work experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of poultry, swine, pet food feed production practices
  • Existing network in the feed industry swine, poultry, pet food contacts a plus
  • Demonstrated success achieving budgeted results
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work well independently and in teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Expertise in leveraging CRM systems and sales pipelines
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally, including overnights
  • Must have authorization to be immediately employed within the United States on a long-term basis
     

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include: 

  • Direct and coordinate activities of managers or departments concerned with the production, purchase, distribution of products, food safety, and customer service
  • Serve on Food Safety Steering Committee
  • Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well maintained
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement
    • Determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
  • Establish and implement departmental polices goals, objectives, and procedures
    • Confer with organization officials, and staff members as necessary
  • Determine staffing requirements
    • Interview, hire and assure appropriate training of new employees
    • Oversee all other personnel processes
  • Monitor departments to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits
  • Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services
  • Prepare annual expense and capital budget for all operational and administrative activities at Ameri-Pac and be aware of P&L contribution
  • Support development, implementation, maintenance and on-going improvement of SQF Systems
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line
  • Assure and enforce compliance with all Food Safety Guidelines, Ameri-Pac work rules, Ameri-Pac Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and OSHA guidelines, as well as Federal and State laws governing the workplace
  • Developing and monitoring the overall organizational structure of the location
  • Ensuring the most effective and efficient use of resources
  • Providing guidance and oversight in preparation of project understandings, schedules, budgets, fee proposals and negotiations
  • Working with regulatory agencies as appropriate and necessary
  • Representing the business with key customers and suppliers as necessary
  • Employee development and performance management for direct reports and support teams
