Where you will work:
This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 50%/40%/etc. remote) and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The contributions you will make:
This position is responsible for the purchase and servicing of investment securities to finance the construction, renovation, and expansion of essential community facilities and businesses in rural communities to further support agriculture and rural America. The incumbent works within a team environment to maintain acceptable levels of investments purchases while building strong professional and client relationships, and maintaining high client satisfaction results. Combines industry expertise and business knowledge with an in-depth understanding of each client's financial position and project to provide a financing package that will lead to a successfully completed project. Markets Mission Financing team products and services to industry partners and prospective clients based upon Compeer abilities using investments as a financing tool. Supports and builds the Compeer Financial brand by developing a referral network of financial advisors, placement agents, government program staff, and other industry professionals within industries served by the Mission Financing business unit.
A typical day:
Business Development and Networking
- Proactively markets and sells Compeer's ability to purchase investment securities, establishing new relationships which contribute toward attainment of Compeer goals and objectives.
- Creates a networking and prospecting strategy that is suitable for industries served by the business unit, to ensure alignment with Compeer's branding and regulatory directives.
- Develops and maintains a significant professional presence throughout the industries served by the business unit.
- Attends industry events and tradeshows to market Compeer's services and show support for industries served by the business unit.
- Makes proposals and presentations to potential investment projects through written documents, phone communication, or in-person presentations.
- Work with Compeer Credit team to secure a credit decision and timely investment purchase.
Investment Purchase Process
- Leads the investment purchase process by coordinating internal team members activities related to the purchase, as well as coordinates with multiple outside parties to ensure the investments are issued and purchased timely.
- Coordinates the legal documentation process with external legal parties and internal legal team members as appropriate for each transaction.
- Leads application process related to government guarantee financing programs, if applicable, and provides direction to client on other government financing programs used to complete the investment transaction.
- Communicates with banks, Farm Credit System institutions, and other potential collaborative investment partners on investment transactions.
Relationship Management and Servicing
- Maintains relationships with industry professionals and government program staff who are referral sources for new investment opportunities or are financing partners for existing investments already purchased.
- Monitors construction and disbursement of funds on investments to help ensure a successfully completed project and meet investment approval conditions and any government financing program requirements (when applicable).
- Services existing investments, in conjunction with Compeer Credit team members, to monitor credit quality and compliance with financing covenants.
Industry and Government Financing Program Expertise
- Builds and maintains expertise within the rural healthcare and senior care industries, as well as any other industries Compeer targets for investment purchases.
- Builds and maintains expertise within the USDA Community Facilities Program and any other government financing programs that provide risk mitigation or value to the types of industries Compeer targets for investment purchases.
The skills and experience we prefer you have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Advanced experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or similar roles.
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial and securities industries.
- Collaborative team-player who can succeed in an environment where success is determined as a team.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
- High level of integrity.
- Strong analytical and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
- Valid driver's license.

The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.
Base Pay
$92,100—$139,500 USD
