Summary

CHS, Inc. is seeking a Terminal Accounting & Operations Coordinator to support the financial and operational integrity of terminal operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, invoice management, grain accounting, and rail logistics coordination across terminal activities involving rail, barge, and truck movements. The Terminal Accounting & Operations Coordinator works closely with operations, accounting, inventory, rail partners, and vendors to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and support efficient day-to-day terminal operations. This role contributes directly to data accuracy, risk mitigation, and long-term operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support terminal operations through accurate payroll processing, accounts payable, and invoice management, ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval processes.
  • Maintain daily grain accounting, inventory reporting, and data reconciliation for rail, barge, and truck movements to ensure accurate operational and financial records.
  • Coordinate rail documentation, billing, and logistics activities, including tracking railcars, and resolving discrepancies with rail partners and internal teams.
  • Partner closely with operations, accounting, inventory, vendors, and rail partners to investigate issues, correct data variances, and maintain timely reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute daily, monthly, and ad hoc reports to support operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support, including record management and participation in special projects as needed.


Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 2+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting
  • High School diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Previous experience in accounting, bookeeping and interacting with internal and external customers
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Abilty to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business needs
  • Associate's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
  • Previous experience with Agris accounting software preferred
  • Farming background or agriculture experience preferred

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
