Summary

Producer Ag is a joint venture between MKC and CHS that taps into an extensive network of assets to support a global supply chain. The joint venture exists to improve market access for farmer-owners, area cooperatives, processors, and end users through participation in the southern corridor grain supply chain and creates an integrated supply chain with export access to the Gulf.

Producer Ag has an exciting opportunity on our trading team. We are looking for a Soybean Product Line Manager to lead trading of soybeans including logistics, origination, hedging, sales, and reporting. In this role, you must be able to work across the enterprise and with a diverse group of people and customers. This role requires collaborative decision making while utilizing details, facts, and data to make informed decisions. Strong communication skills, the ability to build relationships, and attention to detail are a must in this position.

This role will be on site and can be located at either our Wichita, KS or Lincoln, NE locations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight of the soybean product line.
  • Communicate with the trading team, directing position objectives and programs.
  • Establish, strengthen and leverage relationships with key counterparties to add value.
  • Continually investigate and implement improved grain logistics.
  • Maximize returns to company grain assets.
  • Originate bushels from producer and commercial accounts.
  • Communicate goals and objectives to all pertinent stakeholders.
  • Searching out new markets for originated grain.
  • Manage grain position risk with hedging activities.
  • Responsible for setting grain bids.
  • Responsible for meeting budgeted financial return objectives.
  • Involved in coordinating the logistical movement of grain in trucks and railcars.
  • Negotiate freight rates for movement of Producer Ag originated grain.
  • Involved in coordination of all daily trading functions.
  • Work across multiple business units with cross functional leaders to maximize company results including but not limited to operations, accounting and finance.
  • Lead, train and develop direct reports, trading teams and personnel within parent companies.
  • Write goals and development plans for assigned employees.
  • Hold documented monthly 1 on 1s with direct reports.


Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in the grain industry


Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Planning, coordinating, communication and training skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to lead, develop, coach and train commodity traders.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from customers.
  • Computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.

Physical Requirements

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
