Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Wholesale Field Sales Representative on the Refined Fuels team in Western Kansas. This role is responsible for building a book of business and generating revenue by developing market share potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification and closing sales, and for recommending new and established products and services. Incumbents will analyze and develop strategies that will assist customers in achieving their desired level of success in their production operation through measurable results.

This person must live within the territory of Western Kansas, Western Oklahoma, or panhandle of Texas.

Responsibilities

You will:
  • Leverage proficient knowledge of product offerings to develop sales and marketing plans and strategies to achieve budgeted sales and margin goals with assigned customers
  • Recommend and sell products and services to both existing and prospective customers
  • Collaborate with other CHS divisions to leverage business relationships, promote best practices, and grow the CHS enterprise
  • Establish and maintain effective public relations through customer education and promotion of new products and prospective customer calls
  • Monitor trends and competition by gathering competitive and current marketplace information on pricing, products, and new products and services; utilize market intelligence to recommend changes by evaluation results and competitive developments
  • Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner; meet customer needs and resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Complete sales process by scheduling appointments, making initial presentations, and understanding customer requirements
  • Close sales by building rapport with potential account, explaining product and service capabilities, providing price quotes, explaining credit terms, overcoming objections, and preparing contracts for orders obtained
  • Keep management informed by submitting reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses


Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of sales or related experienced


Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • General knowledge of cooperative systems
  • Strong presentation skills
  • General knowledge of refined fuels or related products
  • Experience with selling concepts, products, and programs to a diverse customer base
  • Negotiation skills with win-win business solutions and adjust sales strategy based on market conditions
  • Ability to enable strong customer relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites


CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
