Summary

CHS Inc. has an exciting leadership opportunity within our Ag retail division in Kalispell, MT! We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead our energy division within the CHS Big Sky & Mountain West business unit . Performing basic financial acumen, planning, business process controls, as well as manager oversight and organizational skills are key components in our operations. In addition to decision making, collaboration, and attention to detail with excellent written & verbal communication. Responsibilities

  • Manage energy distribution and delivery as well as establish all retail pricing for petroleum, lubricants and propane products.
  • Manage operations according to divisional objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit.
  • Lead Operations Managers and collaborate with Go to Market Peers to increase efficiency and asset utilization across the Business Unit to enhance customer experience.
  • Work with management and Operations direct reports on energy programs, pricing, and overall strategy.
  • Provide input on product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Oversee and ensure inventory is in place and accurately accounted for.
  • Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio & market share in relation to preset standards & industry & economic trends.
  • Provide input for operating, capital, and lease budgets.
  • Manage the workforce through responsible training, clear job assignment definition and explanation, correct deficient performance, and effectively reward and develop direct reports.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.


Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
  • Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities


Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to make decisions and work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with an ability to influence others
  • Strong negotiation, public relations and organizational skills
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Agronomy or Agriculture related program preferred
  • Agribusiness/Location management/Agronomy Sales experience preferred
  • Certified Crop Advisor license preferred
  • Co-op experience preferred

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
