Job Purpose and Impact

The Transportation Carrier Representative will work with transportation company to move available freight within the organization's brokerage network. In this role, you will handle relationships with a moderately complex portfolio of carriers through prospecting and onboarding activities to ensure efficient, cost effective and profitable movement of goods for the organization.

Key Accountabilities

Partner with respective teams to support the placement of a moderately complex carrier portfolio, standard operating processes, available capacity and quality services.
Engage frequently with key carrier contacts to establish relationships.
Communicate with key carrier contacts on service issues and provide resolution.
Maintain data and prepare reports in the organization's operating system to ensure accurate and timely information and relevant buying decisions.
Participate in negotiations to support bids, price and service commitments which fulfill profit goals and service requirements.
Provide contributions to continuous improvement activities related to carrier opportunities, best practices, industry developments and events.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
