This position is in Cargill's agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Transportation and Logistics Supervisor will lead the G&M stevedoring operations at the Temco and Toledo elevators, provide direction to local facility operations teams, and oversee the day to day aspects of all vessel loading operations. In this role, you will lead, advise and make decisions on all major logistics and transportation activities including loading rotation, proper stowing of cargo, boarding of vessels, shipment execution, client interaction, business partnership, people, resource and project management

Key Accountabilities

  • Support in the determination of loading rotation, proper stowage of cargo, board vessels, attend various inspections (USCG, USDA, NCB).
  • Assist and support in the planning and implementation of processes to create a safe work environment and effective use of the work force to achieve production goals.
  • Gather, synthesize and analyze data and prepare reports and presentations to communicate transportation performance and metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain all required documents for the vessels.
  • Lead daily stevedoring operations for ship loading activities in a safe and profitable manner while maximizing productivity and efficiency.
  • Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 1 year relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Grain operations or personnel management experience
  • Experience managing an effective EHS program
  • Knowledge of government regulations
  • Experience in commercial stevedoring, transportation, transportation procurement, forwarding and bulk cargo transportation
