Principal Accountabilities
Conduct monthly sanitation audits, verify master sanitation schedule and intensified cleaning by sanitation, perform pre-op inspection. Completing pre-op and investigational swabbing as necessary. Entering data from and reporting of pre-op results
Performing tasks in production such as: Condensation checks in areas of operation, Complete remaining production checks including net weights and quality checks for products as needed. Perform AQL audits on raw material as necessary
Complete lab work including calibrating thermometers, and performing chemical checks as necessary on incoming raw materials
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly lab housekeeping
Other duties as assigned
QA Assistants work in both cold and hot environments, walking, standing for long periods during their shift. Manages and records quality information making decisions regarding safety and quality of the product manufactured. Will interact and communicate with employees of all levels of the organization as well as vendors. The company's success is dependent on a watchful, conscientious, objective person. Prevention of error through monitoring of processes enables the plant to produce high quality goods of 1 million pounds per week
Required Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Previous food manufacturing experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must have good math skills/knowledge
Computer literacy including Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel and Word
Ability to work weekends is required, irregular hours 11:00 pm - 7:30 am (8-9 hours/day), and overtime as needed. Travel is limited
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Quality Assurance, Sanitation, or Food Lab setting experience
2 years or more of food manufacturing experience
4 year degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
Basic bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
