Principal Accountabilities
In addition to leading the maintenance team in daily support, duties will include communicating with Operations, FSQR and Safety, Utility and other department supervisors and managers on safety, maintenance and other plant matters that may arise
Completion of startup, shutdown, pass-down items, PM's, and daily work orders will be monitored by the shift maintenance lead
Leads are expected to uphold Cargill policies and ensure their team members follow all safety, food safety and plant policy/procedures
Leads will assist management in all Pre-Job Hazard Analysis (PJHA's) and LifeSaver Permits to ensure hazards are identified, mitigated, and documented following Cargill procedures. To include hot work permits, confined space permits, and lifting and rigging permits
Maintenance Leads must have deep technical skill as well as the ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and strictly adhere to all OSHA and Cargill safety standards. Previous leadership experience is helpful
They must exhibit core leadership and decision-making skills in alignment with Cargill's core values
Maintenance leads work in a cold environment, doing a variety of tasks such as troubleshooting repair work, performing preventative maintenance, working around raw meat, working with industrial electricity, hydraulics, bearings, welding, pneumatics, and PLC's
They will be required to use various hand tools associated with the work task. The role requires candidates to wear personal protective equipment and work within food safety requirements in order to deliver a safe product to the consume
Required Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Must be able to work in the US without an humanitarian Parole status related to Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua or Venezuela which is subject to the Federal Register Notice of revocation by DHS on March 25, 2025
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of PPE, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
2+ years of electrical, electronic, and mechanical experience
Basic use of a computer
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Cargill experience
Previous food industry experience
Work history in the past 12 months
Minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance experience or completed training for Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
