We are looking for a Commercial Development Specialist who will be responsible for supporting the adoption of breed association programs and technology in the seedstock and commercial sectors of the Canadian beef industry. You must have the ability to train and educate key business partners, commercial producers, and to organize and deliver information seminars.
Position Description Summary:
Heifer Select is a newly funded ground-breaking initiative on behalf of a number of industry stakeholders to drive adoption, education and uptake of genomic technology tools in the commercial sector.
The Commercial Development Specialist role is to help deliver the objectives of the participating breed associations of the Heifer Select Genomics Project programs and technology nationally. Thus, the incumbent will be expected to market all of the participating cattle breed programs to commercial producers and industry partners.
Reporting to a designated committee from each of the participating associations, the role includes but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

Employee will be based out of one of the Rocky View County, Alberta locations, and must be able to travel to farms, and industry events approximately 80% of the time, with some overnight, evening and weekend work possible.
The majority of the work performed in this role will be, face-to-face client visits as required, over the phone and via video conference.
