EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – CALIFORNIA AVOCADO COMMISSION

MARKETING COORDINATOR

 

The California Avocado Commission is looking for a Marketing Coordinator.  The California Avocado Commission is responsible for the marketing and advertising of California avocados, as well as participating in industry wide activities, that together will help create a more profitable market environment.

 

Job Description:

  • Coordinate with the marketing team, agencies, and staff in development and implementation of promotional activities, presentations and stakeholder communications
  • Manage the merchandising/marketing database for retailers/distributors/wholesalers, point-of-sale materials and programs, media program support, and Content Management System updates to the Commission’s website
  • Manage the Commission’s fulfillment operations; including shipments, inventories and monthly accounting audit
  • Maintain good handler relations, serving as a resource regarding the Commission’s retail promotions, point-of-sale materials, data and other information
  • Oversee development and execution of export promotions with handlers and reimbursement process of grant funding used for those promotions
  • Plan and facilitate key account grove tours and assist with special events such as national and regional trade shows, as needed
  • Coordinate compilation of the Annual Business Plan and the Marketing Budget Plan development with executive management
  • Manage development and execution of trade marketing contracts and budget, promotional agreements and annual spending budgets for all marketing agencies’ contracts
  • Lead the USDA review/approval process for the Commission’s marketing programs and materials


Required Skills:

2-4 years of experience in marketing coordination or trade marketing, with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field preferred.  Experience collaborating with external marketing agencies and vendors, as well as internal stakeholders. Strong project coordination and management skills, as well as the proven ability to excel in a hybrid office environment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, Adobe PhotoShop/Acrobat, WordPress and marketing analytics tools. Ability to move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
