A Day in the Life:

Lead and execute comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the Bunge plant, providing expert technical guidance and fostering a robust safety-first culture. This role is critical in preventing serious injuries, fatalities, and environmental incidents, while ensuring strict compliance with all applicable EHS regulations

What You'll Be Doing:
  • EHS Program Development & Management: Implement, maintain, and continuously update Bunge's EHS standards and programs. Drive a "Best-in-Class" EHS performance with a dedicated focus on eliminating Serious Injuries & Fatalities (SIF), High-Potential Exposures (HPE) such as confined space, Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety, and mobile equipment, as well as preventing environmental incidents and non-compliance events.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Monitor and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and permits to ensure full compliance with Bunge's global requirements and all local, state/provincial, and federal regulations. Serve as the primary liaison between the plant and government agencies for all EHS matters.
  • Technical Expertise & Support: Provide expert EHS technical support and professional guidance to the plant leadership team and all employees.
  • Safety Culture & Training: Champion a proactive safety culture by coaching and developing all employees on EHS best practices. Design and deliver impactful EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, focusing on HPEs and critical environmental requirements (e.g., stormwater, wastewater, air, waste).
  • Incident Prevention & Investigation: Conduct regular observations and audits to assess program effectiveness, identify risks, and prevent incidents. Track, investigate, and analyze all injuries, illnesses, near-miss events, and environmental incidents, leading the implementation of preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Emergency Preparedness & Asset Protection: Develop and manage comprehensive emergency response plans for environmental emergencies, natural disasters, injuries, fires, and other adverse events. Oversee fire protection and security systems, serving as a liaison with insurance inspectors to coordinate responses to recommendations.
  • Environmental Stewardship & Process Safety: Promote and drive environmental sustainability initiatives at the plant, collaborating with the corporate environmental team on data collection and improvement efforts. Support the implementation and maintenance of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs, as applicable to facilities with solvents, hydrogen, ammonia, and combustible dust.


Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical work experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in safety and environmental roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in improving outcomes related to Serious Injuries & Fatalities (SIF) and High-Potential Exposures (HPEs).
  • Proven track record of successfully applying EHS standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety-first work environment.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex EHS information clearly.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and standard business software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • The compensation range for this position is $88,032.00 to $99,036.00. In addition to the regular compensation, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
