Technical Agronomist III 

 

 

As a Technical Agronomist III (TA), you are the product and agronomic leader in your squad. You are jointly responsible with local sales, product management, agronomy, agronomic services, and marketing personnel to achieve or exceed established sales targets. You enable success by utilizing your agronomic expertise to position the full Bayer portfolio for current and future business success. This role will cover the following counties: Allamakee, Winneshiek, Dubuque, Jones, Clayton, Black Hawk, Grundy in Iowa.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute field scale testing programs;
  • Collaborate with seed dealers/growers to plant trials, collect required data, maintain and harvest trials;
  • Provide technical support and training for seed dealers and the Bayer squad;
  • Communicate agronomic value of seed and crop protection products;
  • Create an Agronomy Plan for alignment with the squad;
  • Build presence and credibility with key growers, seed dealers, crop consultants, and other key 3rd party stakeholders;
  • Plan and execute tactics to support identified business strategies and objectives;
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in local portfolio management and future year forecasting;
  • Evaluate new products thoroughly each season to drive future year forecasting and market positioning strategy;
  • Ensure compliance with Bayer safety and vehicle safety policies;
  • Steward product use recommendations for the local territory;
  • Travel approximately 60% with significant (daily) face-to-face customer interaction.

WHO YOU ARE: Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in agriculture or related discipline;
  • Experience in agronomy, sales, field development or research and development roles
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs (a bag of seed);
  • Valid driver s license. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.) and must meet guidelines based on the company s Risk?Screening for Hiring Drivers;
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Driver medical card or the ability to obtain one through successfully completing and passing a DOT physical. In?addition, candidate must be able to meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA criteria. Drivers with previous DOT driving?experience may be required to undergo FMCSA safety checks and applicable review.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $91,135.38 - $136,703.06  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
