Technical Agronomist II-West Central Minnesota 

 

 

 

 

This Territory will cover West Central Minnesota.

 

 

 

The Technical Agronomist plays a pivotal role as the area sales team and product agronomic leader. You are responsible, along with the Area Business Manager, for achieving or exceeding established regional and territory sales targets. You will drive the success of the sales team by leveraging your agronomic expertise to strategically position the Bayer portfolio, including seed, crop protection, and Climate FieldView, to deliver tailored solutions for customers. Your local impact on business results is central to our mission of advancing agriculture through innovative solutions.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Plan and execute field scale testing programs, including trials for Bayer seed products and Ground Breaker trials for new product launches;
  • Collaborate with seed dealers and growers to plant trials, collect data, maintain and harvest trials;
  • Provide technical support and training for seed dealers and Bayer sales team, aligning with business priorities;
  • Communicate agronomic positioning and benefits of seed, trait, and crop protection products;
  • Create and implement an Agronomy Business Plan to align with the sales team, focusing on strategies and prioritized activities to achieve business objectives;
  • Build your profile as a technical expert in the territory, establishing credibility with key stakeholders such as growers, seed dealers, and crop consultants;
  • Comply with Bayer safety and vehicle safety policies, ensuring squad and customer success through high-quality work and sound judgment;
  • Manage product performance inquiry settlement authority, ensuring proper guidance and resolution for claims exceeding specified thresholds.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in agriculture or related discipline;
  • Proven ability to develop and execute agronomy business plans that align with sales objectives;
  • Strong communication skills to articulate agronomic benefits and product positioning to diverse audiences;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive business success;
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical support and training, enhancing the capabilities of the sales team and seed dealers;
  • Position requires driving for the company that may fall under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, including hauling trailers, product, supplies, or equipment safely;
  • Proficiency in managing product inquiries and resolutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in agriculture or related discipline with a minimum of 5 (BS), 2 (MS), or 1 (Ph.D.) years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development, or R&D roles.

 

 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $72,000 - $107,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
