Strategic Account Manager II 

 

Plans and implements sales strategies for specific major accounts, cultivating relationships and identifying opportunities through medium to long-term planning. Develops medium to long-range sales plans and prepares strategies to protect, grow, and diversify major accounts while meeting sales targets across the full line of products or combinations of products. Establishes and builds strong client relationships over time to ensure continuity and ongoing representation, supported by sales delivery programs and communication with relevant organizational functions and divisions. Collaborates with other key account managers and sales management to develop sales strategies, helping to identify target accounts and opportunities within the organization-wide strategy. Monitors competitive activity within each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Strategic Acct Mgr II, are to:

 

 

  • Ownership and accountability of Regional and Divisional relationship, or facilitate headquarter level relationships focused in either CP or S&T and Bayer business results. It will report to the US Area Lead with key connection to the Strategic Account Lead for Account(s).
  • Will be expected to have a strong knowledge of the strategic direction and priorities of the account and dovetail those with Bayer's corporate strategy through a yearly business planning process. This SAM role will work with Account at the Regional and Divisional leadership level to develop and implement collaborative approaches that maximizes usages of Bayer's portfolio of CP, Seed Growth and Climate offerings when relevant, while balancing account (Bayer sourced) proprietary brands. The individual will be expected to have a high level of influence and collaboration with Bayer sales leadership to ensure strategic and execution alignment within the region.
  • Yearly Business Planning process that identifies key imperatives, tactics and quarterly road map that encompasses account priorities supported by Bayer strategy and initiatives.
  • Serve as key business consultant to middle management at regional level for both organizations. Identify Key business opportunities and secure needed resources to capitalize on them.
  • Manage forecasting, budgets, inventory and multi-year agreements.
  • Collaboratively drive business direction.
  • Implement, promote, and communicate marketing incentive opportunities w/Bayer portfolio.
  • Communicate and facilitate strategy and tactics to develop mutually beneficial business solutions. Build relationships and trust with all stakeholders that foster local resolution to conflict/issues.
  • Collaborate with Bayer Account Managers, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Operations to understand business needs and trends, while gaining support for account.
  • Work closely with Bayer Business Unit Leads to align goals and expectations and coordinate push and pull strategies and complementary brand approaches.
  • Role will involve travel to account(s) Regional and Divisional offices as well as other account meetings.

 

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in related field;
  • Proven success in building effective business relationships across large divisions of organizations.
  • Business acumen, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, leadership. Ability to balance the Bayer and customer needs to achieve mutually beneficial business results.
  • A high degree of leadership and collaboration existing between Bayer internal field teams and the account Strong communication & influencing skills to drive execution of the account plans with stakeholders.
  • Account management skills that include big picture understanding and creative solutions.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and clear/maintain appropriate company Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) and safety expectations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%-70%.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 10 years relevant commercial experience plus a or 8 years relevant experience plus a Masters Degree or MBA in related field. Direct selling experience preferred.

 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 139040.00 - 208560.00.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
