Social Media Manager 



 This position is located in St Louis, MO or residence based in Illinois, Minnesota, or Ohio.


This position will be a core team member of Bayer Crop Science’s newly established Digital Hub—an integrated Digital Media and Analytics team and will lead our holistic Social Media strategy including organic plus paid. We are looking for a professional with proven strategic and technical expertise in Paid Social media and a proven track record of establishing best practices and standards across paid social channels, with a desire to shape the future of the Digital Hub. In addition to establishing best practices for paid social media, this individual will guide how paid and organic social work together, develop paid social KPIs and plans, and will help interpret the media results across paid social for the Marketing Communications managers. The ideal candidate is a life-long learner and can demonstrate a great capacity to take initiative, consistently deliver above expectations, a passion for quality and continuous improvement and a willingness to work hard and be rewarded.


The primary responsibilities of this role, Social Media Manager, are to: 


  • Develop and guide holistic Social Media strategy including organic plus paid, and how strategy, creative, measurement and engagement work together;
  • Develop overall social marketing best practices in paid social media:
  • Deliver audience and channel strategy;
  • Collaborate with the Content Operations team to provide creative guidance and oversight based on best practices and analytics / performance metrics;
  • Coordinate with cross-channel planner in the review of paid social media plans;
  • Guide the development of KPIs for actionable paid and organic social media reporting;
  • Review paid social media performance with agencies and Marketing Communications managers and proposes key in-flight optimizations;
  • Govern agency execution against established best practices and standards;
  • Facilitate training and upskilling of Marketing Communications managers in best practices in paid social media;
  • Maintain thought leadership by staying on top of emerging social media trends and guiding the marketing teams on how and when to incorporate them into their marketing plans.

Required Qualifications:


  • At least three years of Social Media experience with strong knowledge of prevailing platforms such as, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn;
  • Deep background in Paid Social campaign planning, management and integration with non-Paid social platforms;
  • Knowledge and understanding of social marketing management and social listening tools such as Sprinklr, Khoros, Brandwatch, Netbase, etc.;
  • Proven record of developing processes to implement Social Media industry best practices;
  • Excellent skills in identifying and communicating insights, often to stakeholders with non-technical backgrounds;
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a complex enterprise environment.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in B2B industries, agriculture or commodities sector;
  • Additional online advertising experience across other paid advertising channels (e.g. Programmatic, Paid Search);
  • Understanding of organic social media best practices.
