Senior UX Researcher 

 

As Bayer Crop Science's digital farming arm, we advance regenerative agriculture and technology breakthroughs using the latest agronomic science, data science, engineering, and real-world farming experience. With groundbreaking technologies like Climate FieldView and our ForGround regenerative agriculture platform, our team is a part of some of the most important advancements in ag. 

 

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will define, champion, and execute the UX research that informs and shapes the product roadmap. You'll facilitate, support, and optimize user research activities within an organization, including coordinating research projects and maintaining the quality of research processes and documentation.  

Additionally, you will ensure that user research is conducted effectively, and that the insights gained are integrated into product development processes to drive user-centered and informed decision-making. Lastly, you'll inspire and guide cross-functional teams by embedding a culture of evidence-based decision-making and customer empathy. 

 

This position is available for candidates based in St. Louis, Chicago, or remote within the central US to match geographies with Bayer Digital Farming's customers.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

  • Lead and drive complex regional research initiatives across squads, ARTs, or business lines, translating business needs into research strategies aligned with strategic goals. 

  • Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives, user needs, and product opportunities. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to embed research into product strategy, decision-making, and roadmap planning. 

  • Define and evolve the research operations model, governance, and tooling to enable scalable, high-quality research practices. 

  • Champion ethical, inclusive, and evidence-based research practices across Bayer Digital Farming and promote research democratization while maintaining quality and integrity. 

  • Proactively develop and manage research plans, methodologies, and project timelines in alignment with broader product and business objective. 

  • Support product managers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and feedback on their use of research findings to inform product decisions. 

  • Coordinate and support user research activities, including participant management, stakeholder alignment, and smooth project execution. 

  • Maintain high standards for research data management, documentation, and compliance with data privacy regulations. 

  • Manage and optimize research tools and software, ensuring accessibility and effective use across the research team and broader organization 

  

WHO YOU ARE 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

 

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, Sociology, Information Science, or a related discipline. 

  • 5-12 years of experience conducting UX research in a product development environment. 

  • Proficiency in research tools (e.g., Dovetail, Qualtrics, usability testing platforms). 

  • Solid understanding of UX principles and customer empathy. 

  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills to convey insights to varied audiences. 

  • Strong expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research. 

 

Preferred: 

  • UX Design experience 

  • Dovetail and Figma experience 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $130-180k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive program (if relevant).?
