YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This advanced pipeline planning role is essential for managing logistics and coordinating schedules to meet the requirements of the R&D (Breeding) seed product pipeline. With a strong focus on digital transformation and project management within the supply chain, the successful candidate will utilize their expertise in pipeline crop cycle management and agronomic knowledge to oversee the critical virtual tasks that facilitate nursery, processing, packaging, and field-testing activities. This position is responsible for ensuring that all logistical activities are completed on time and in full, while maintaining the integrity and quality of the data necessary to drive the advancement of the R&D pipeline.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Pipeline Planner, are to: 

 

  • Develop and Manage Digital Plans: Create detailed digital plans and schedules that empower UNIT team members and regional seed production/testing teams to meet pipeline targets and cycle times for each crop phase they manage. Identify and implement opportunities for improving pipeline health and operational efficiencies;
  • Conduct Supply Chain Analysis: Develop alternative solutions to address supply shortfalls impacting internal and external customer requirements. Ensure root cause identification, corrective action, and implementation are part of the process;
  • Implement Independent Problem Solving: Tackle complex planning challenges independently, utilizing financial, operational, and business judgment, while adapting to ambiguous conditions;
  • Oversee Data Management: Responsible for maintaining planning parameters and master data within crop science analytical tools and software systems;
  • Act with Initiative Leadership: Lead initiatives focused on digital transformation, including the launch of tools like Velocity or Experiment Assistant;
  • Provide Strategic Consultation: Provide insights and recommendations on strategic shifts to enhance project outcomes;
  • Provide Control Tower Representation: Act as a representative in the Control Tower, ensuring alignment with operational goals;
  • Ensure Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate crop cycle updates and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives;
  • Ensure LRP Alignment: Ensure that the Long-Range Plan (LRP) is connected with the overall strategy for the crop being represented;
  • Have a Process Improvement Focus: Dedicate 20% of your time to process improvements that embrace digital initiatives;
  • Define and Monitor Metrics: Establish key operational metrics to track progress and ensure that these metrics are met through various planning and operational measures.

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

 Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor s degree in Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Business, Information Technology, or a related field with a strong focus on data analytics;
  • Data and Analytics Skills: Proficient in data visualization and reporting using tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, SQL, and Excel;
  • Results-oriented with a strong process improvement mindset, capable of working independently to drive data-driven initiatives;
  • Excellent influencing skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams;
  • High adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work effectively within a matrix organization;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities grounded in data analysis and interpretation;
  • Key Competencies: Demonstrated customer focus, collaboration, negotiation skills, people agility, and conflict management capabilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of total experience in supply chain, logistics, or related fields, with a background in Crop Science preferred;
  • Experience in developing analytical models to support supply chain decision-making is a plus.

Domestic relocation may be offered for this role.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $82,960.00 to $124,440.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant s location, market data/ranges, an applicant s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
