Operations Excellence Specialist  

 

This role will support the development, implementation and sustainment of onePSS in Crop Science Product Supply, across sites and applicable non site/field operations, track and support improvement projects, onePSS sustainment, and One Management System at the site. 

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Act as a regional SME and facilitate the continuous improvement journey of onePSS; demonstrate a robust understanding of onePSS methodology, lean/agile content, and change management. 

  • Recommends updates to the onePSS standards in collaboration with other regional OE Managers. 

  • Review onePSS journey status at each operation and challenge teams to develop action plans to close gaps to plan e.g. timelines, practice maturity progression, financial targets, adoption and sustainability of improvements 

  • Review opportunities and findings at specific squads/units and facilitate sharing across peer squads/units and enabling Operational Excellence teams, supporting the implementation of change while enabling solutions to roadblocks.   

  • Ensure the recommendations and actions are mission focused and improve value for site processes, our products, and customers. 

  • Catalyze prioritized initiatives through 90-day cycles and agile methodology, coaching teams to lean/agile process improvements. 

  • Demonstrates and executes the DSO mindsets and principles and works with Squads and Mission teams with a daily tactical focus to ensure sustainment of onePSS at the site. 

  • Shares onePSS learnings and best practices in collaboration with peers and off-site Operational Excellence roles/One Management System. 

  • Identify site needs and act as a primary point of contact to pull support from Off-Site SME's within Operational Excellence areas of focus. 

  • Own and maintain performance improvement methodology, tools and systems (e.g., Lean/Six sigma toolkit 

 

 

WHO YOU ARE 

  

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

  

Required Qualifications: 

  

  • BS/BA 

  • 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations  

  • Proven record of successfully driving site level projects in the manufacturing excellence space; Excellent communication (verbal and written), and teamwork skills within a diverse organization; proficient facilitation in large group environments. 

  • Affinity to VACC leadership behaviors, capable of coaching and developing senior managers; Ability to drive results facing time and resource constraints; Capable of influencing at every level in the organization;  

  • Strong experience in process management and process improvement strategies.  

  • Leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain 

  • Travel: approximately 30 - 50% of the time. 

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  

  • Lean/Six-sigma green or black belt certification, Prosci, or similar Lean and/or Change Management certification 

  • BS/BA/MS in SCM, Business, Engineering field preferred, MBA, ME, 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $100,740.80 - $151,111.20. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
