R&D Spec II
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Spec II, are to:
- Delivers daily/weekly targets.
- Has primary or shared responsibility for a specialized laboratory technology.
- Accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms/process areas.
- Solves problems of routine to moderate scope; optimizes workflows; validates methods using multiple data sources.
- Uses specialized scientific techniques to conducting experiments and process improvements.
- Adheres to established protocols and techniques.
- May operate and troubleshoot instrumentation;
- Solves routine problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning of diverse procedures within specialized laboratory technology.
- Prioritizes and coordinates work within a large team and provides training to contingent workforce; maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation.
- Achieves commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Performs a variety of experiments with accuracy.
- Skilled in organizing and reporting specialized reports, including analyzing and interpreting the results of experiments, production KPIs, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders.
- The successful candidate will thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and will have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group.
- Takes initiative in keeping current with developments in specialized area.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with 10 years relevant experience.
- Strong horticultural production acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data.
- Greenhouse and growth chamber experience with aptitude for identifying, communicating, tracking, and troubleshooting plant health variables.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field with relevant experience,
- 2+ years of related experience in academia or industry,
