Your Tasks and Responsibilities 

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

  • Assist in the automation of genomic analytical pipelines to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data processing;
  • Retrieve genomic datasets from various sources and analyze them utilizing established tools, effectively communicating findings to relevant stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with partners in breeding and other departments to gain insights into their requirements, aiding in the formulation of strategies to address their needs;
  • Contribute to the development of novel genomic tools that support ongoing research and applications;
  • Work alongside software engineers to design and implement automated workflows that streamline genomic analyses.

 

Required Qualifications

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program (PhD) in Biology, Breeding, Cell & Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of genomics and molecular markers;
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or others;
  • Curious and self-motivated individual eager to explore and learn various techniques and their applications;
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with short and long read sequencing;
  • Familiarity with Pan-genome Knowledge of marker development processes.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of $46.30. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
