What You Will Do

 

The Operations Associate is responsible for executing daily operations and working with internal groups to design, execute and oversee the North America Plant Breeding s Research and Development efforts.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Be accountable for safe and timely delivery of quality supply based on production schedules while maintaining an efficient operation.
  • Perform duties in a manner that supports overall site.
  • Key metrics to include; Safety, Quality, On-Time and In-Full Delivery, and Cost Efficiency.
  • Organize and execute upon research protocols and operational plans for the sites day-to-day priorities.
  • Support the implementation of unique and innovative technology solutions designed to improve research design and operations success through the use of new tools and methodologies to improve overall plant breeding.
  • Operation of research equipment, note taking, data management with internal IT systems, comply with regulated seed stewardship standards, complete and/or participate in safety inspections and trainings, and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Organize and execute day-to-day priorities of the site either independently or as the leader of a small team.
  • Train team members and seasonal employees on standard operating procedures, site and operation safety guidelines, and tool operations.
  • Be an influence within the organization, supporting projects and initiatives at hub, working independently, and being proficient in particular areas. Having a solid network, providing innovative solutions, possess technical abilities, and plan/direct/coordinate activities of others.
  • Be accountable for business unit or project results through leadership and coordination across site strategy, prioritize and monitor projects to ensure completion within deadlines and budgets.
  • Contribute to activities within the surrounding community to foster positive community relations and outreach efforts.
  • Ensure visibility and resolution of production pipeline challenges.
  • Engage with site leadership to ensure aligned vision for optimal future state and reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and autonomy in task execution. Show proficiency across multiple machine platforms, tools, technologies, and workflows.
  • Uses initiative and takes action in the absence of direction.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Valid Drivers License. In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor s degree and 3+ years work-related experience in agriculture, supply chain, manufacturing and, in lieu of degree, 6+ years work-related experience in agriculture, supply chain, manufacturing.
  • Preferred degree disciplines: Agriculture, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering
  • Arizona Pesticide applicators license holder or ability to obtain in 60 days
  • Clear and accurate communication and has appropriate level of detail. Leverages data to drive decision making. Adopts new technologies and develops digital acumen.
  • Proactive communication of challenges and potential solutions. Maintains regular communication with stakeholders and owns discussion end to end.
  • Communication with regional contacts regarding workflows, priorities, and methods.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including influencing, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, and relationship management
  • Results oriented with the ability to make effective decisions after careful consideration of various courses of action and impact on various individuals and/or groups
  • Demonstrated success in fostering site culture dedicated to environmental SSHE, regulatory compliance and quality performance.

 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 56,424.80 $84,637.20. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
